Field Trip: We are going to the zoo on June 1st!!!! Today permission slips went home. Please return signed permission slips with $5.50 as soon as possible.

Math Connecting Cubes:  We sent home connecting cubes on Friday. Please keep at home to complete math worksheets and return them to school by Tuesday, May 31st.

Songs on School Website: In writing we are working on persuasive! Students wrote songs to persuade their friends to follow classroom rules. We recorded the finish product on Friday! Check them out under our Video and Aduio link! (on school site)

Spring Assembly: Our class is in the spring assembly in June!!! We will be singing and dancing to Chubby Checker, The Twist! Please help by playing the song and dancing the twist at home. I uploaded videos and lyrics to our website! www.msjuarez.com

Alternative Seating!!!!!

We got rid of our assigned seats!!!! Research as shown that 5 and 6 year olds can’t sit for hours at a time. I know I can’t!

Students are allow to pick their own seat that best fits them, they can also choose to work at the standing table, seating criss-cross on a rug, or kneeling on pillows. As long as they are working, that is the goal! We switch our seats right before I teach the next lesson, so seats are never permanent and our friends are always changing! So far this has been great for our classroom learning!

Week of April 11th

Parent teacher conferences are on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. I sent home appointment times last Thursday. Please make sure to mark your calendar and make your appointment. Last, time we had all but one parent show up. It would be awesome to get 100% attendance!!!

Field Trip information for The Children’s Museum on May 5th went home last week. Please send in $8.00 and signed permission slips as soon as possible.

Keep reading using MyOn! Make sure your child completes the book in its entirety. The school’s MyOn contest is for the most number of books read!

Also, homework packets are due FRIDAY April 15th since we will be on Spring Break the following Monday!

I used this blog at my old school and it was so helpful to keep families up to date! This year I didn't use this blog (earlier) since our school had it own website. However, I did find some features on this blog format that make things easier for both parents and students. This blog can easily be used on your mobile phone! So, the next time you child says "I am bored" have then connect to this blog and listen to class read alouds or log on to their MyOn account and practice reading. In addition, please check out the tabs above to navigate through more classroom information! Also, on the top right corner, you can pick the language you would like to read this blog and Google will translate it for you!

I am super excited to teach students on Monday how to navigate and use this site!!!
