Hi Parents!
This is my last post of the year. I purposely didn't post yesterday because I am trying to stress the fact to the kids that they need to be responsible for their spelling words and homework from now on. I am not sure who is taking over my maternity leave nor if that person will have a blog or not. The blog will still be available for your child to access RAZ Kids from home. It has been a true joy and pleasure being your child's teacher. Thank you to all the parents who have sent warm wishes for my family and I. I am grateful to work with such great families.

Dear Parents
and Students,
I can’t believe how quickly this
year has fly by! As many of you know my due date is approaching fast, March 4th
2015! My husband and I are excited to meet our little dude. I am planning for my
last day at school to be next Friday, February 27, 2015.
For the past 9 years teaching has
been my main priority and I know I am going to miss it. However, with that
said, we have worked very hard this year and I am very satisfied with the
growth of all my students! Last month I tested the students with the TRC assessment
for reading and I am excited to report that 70% of our class is working at
proficient or above 1st grade level!!! We had the highest scores of the
entire 1st grade team! Out of that 70%, we have 43% of our class
reading above the benchmark level of F-G! With a classroom size of 30 and only
1 teacher assistant for an hour a day, this is a huge accomplishment! I am so
proud of the hard work that my students, parents, and I have put into this
year.
I also wanted to share with you
your child’s last writing piece that have completed with me. This “All About
Book” is another great accomplishment. The work put into this book demonstrates
many Common Core Sate Standards skills in reading and writing that we have
learned this year.
Students Needed to Independently…
1.
Research a topic and read several texts on the topic
2.
Formulate the main idea and details for their research
3.
Decide how and what information that wanted to teach
others
4.
Organize their writing and the chapters they wanted to
include
5.
Write, write, write, and write so their writing was
“readable” by others
6.
Draw illustrations that enhanced their writing work
7.
Check over their work for end marks, capitals, and
spelling
I really hope you enjoy your
child’s “All About Book” as this is a special gift I can leave you and your
child with. It has been a true joy being
your child’s teacher and working with such wonderful and dedicated parents. I
wish you all a great rest of the year. If you need anything or would like to
just check-in, please continue to use my school email. I will try my best to

Estimados Padres y Estudiantes,
No puedo creer lo
rápido que este año ha pasado! Como muchos de ustedes saben mi fecha límite se
esta acercando rápidamente, 04 de marzo 2015! Mi marido y yo estamos
emocionados de conocer a nuestro pequeño bebe. Estoy planeando que mi último
día en la escuela sea el próximo Viernes, 27 de febrero 2015.
Durante los últimos
9 años la enseñanza ha sido mi prioridad y sé que la voy a extrañar. Sin embargo,
hemos trabajado muy duro este año y estoy muy satisfecha con el crecimiento de
todos mis estudiantes! El mes pasado realice pruebas para los estudiantes con
la evaluación TRC para la lectura y estoy muy contenta de informarles que el
70% de nuestra clase está trabajando a nivel competente o superior nivel de 1er
grado!!! Tenemos las puntuación más altas de todo 1er grado! De ese 70%,
tenemos el 43% de nuestra clase de lectura por encima del nivel de referencia
de F-G! Con una clase de 30 estudiantes y sólo 1 asistente de maestro durante
una hora al día, esto es un verdadero logro! Estoy muy orgulloso del trabajo
duro que mis estudiantes, padres, y yo hemos puesto en este año.
También quería
compartir con ustedes la última pieza de escritura que su hijo que han
terminado conmigo. Este "Todo Acerca del libro" es otro gran logro.
El trabajo puesto en este libro demuestra muchas habilidades de Estándares de
tronco común estatales de lectura y escritura que hemos aprendido este año.
Estudiantes
necesitaban hacer Independientemente ...
1. La investigación
de un tema y leer varios textos sobre el tema
2. Formular la idea
principal y los detalles de su investigación
3. Decidir cómo y
qué información que quería enseñar a otros
4. Organice su
escritura y los capítulos que querían incluir

Realmente espero que
disfrute "Todo Acerca del libro" ya que este es un regalo especial
que les dejo para usted y su niño. Ha sido una gran alegría el ser la maestra
de su hijo y trabajar con esos maravillosos y dedicados padres. Les deseo a
todos un gran resto del año. Si necesitas algo o desea simplemente el registro
