YAY! First Week of School is done!
Today we took our Spelling and Sight Word Test. Please look in your child's sight word notebook to see what they got on their test.
This Friday there is no homework. Unless... your child didn't complete their "I'm a Bucket Filler" worksheet from yesterday. If your child didn't complete this sheet they need to draw and write how they are a bucket filler at home or at school. A Bucket Filler is a helpful and caring person.
Enjoy your weekend!!!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am super excited to be teaching first grade! I believe that first grade is a very important year that builds the foundation for reading, writing, and math. This year we will work together to give your child the support he/she needs to do and be their best!
This is my 9th year of teaching at Columbia Explorers Academy. I have a true passion for teaching and enjoy my profession. Teaching was what I wanted to do since I was a little girl. In my commitment to my profession, I became a National Board Certification Teacher in 2011. In addition, I hold a Masters in Reading.
I think of my classroom as not just a classroom, but also a community that includes students, families, teachers, and administrators. I work hard to promote parent involvement in my students’ education. I have created this classroom blog that is used daily within classroom instruction and communicating with parents.
I
look forward to meeting you all!
Ms.
Juarez, NBCT
