Monday 01/13/14

Hi!

Today we had perfect attendance!!!!! Things run so smoothly when everyone is here. We also started our research project as we learn how to read nonfiction text. The students really seemed to enjoy the new class books and reading all about animals! I also tested the students for their sight words from last week, and most of them did awesome!!! Thank you for helping your child! 

Homework:
Spelling: 5 times each

Phonics: workbook pages 187-190

Math: workbook page on using symbols to compare numbers

Reading: practice sight words and practice reading

Weekly Words:
Blue:(short e and long e -ee, -ea)  keep, next, leaf, sleep, west, clean, dress, sweep, jeep, when, week, wheat, web, vest, team, teeth, heat, weak, *been

Green: (-it, -ot, -at)  not, bat, hit, spot, rat, pit, fit, cot, fat, mat, kit, lit, chat, that, dot, nit, slot, flat, trot, quit

Yellow: (Y Z and V words) yell, yarn, yogurt, yo-yo, yard, zoo, zebra, zero, zigzag, zucchini, vest, van, vine, vase, violin

Sight Words: quite, twice, type, wasn't, layers, froze, perhaps, enough, pipe, hiccupped
