Monday 11-3-14

Our Spelling workbooks are in!!!!! This means your child will be taught words at their instructional level. This will help your child grow into a better reader and writer, as well enrich the students who are working above grade level. Below are the spelling words for individual groups and the skill each group is working on. 

Spelling Words:
Blue: (long a (cvce) and short a)
glass, gate, hand, snap, came, base, same, whale, make, what, last, grass, rake, made, bat, fast, mad, page, face, ask, sack

Green: (digraphs ch, sh)
chick, cheese, chair, check, chimney, shirt, shell, shelf, ship, shoe, shadow

Yellow: (word families ad, ap, ag)
sad, cap, wag, nap, lap, pad, rag, dad, bag

Orange: (inital sounds b and m)
ball, abrn, bone, bat, bed, baby, map, mop, moon, milk, man

Homework: 
Spelling: Students are in differentiated groups to meet their individual needs. Homework stays the same, so tonight is 3 times each, BUT make sure your child is doing the words from their spelling group.

Math: workbook page on adding addends in different order

Phonics: workbook page 81-82

Reading: practice sight words and practice reading
